The HD debate....
Some text rambling...
*****I HAVE ADDED A POLL PLEASE SELECT WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FORMAT AT THE TOP RIGHT OF THIS PAGE ******
Yesterdays post of this making a return got me thinking....
There is a debate in the skateboarding world about the VX 1000 and the move up to HD with many people still siding with the VX and the footage that it creates. Yes the VX 1000 was the original camera that found its way into the skateboarding world and became the staple for any budding filmer or pro. It was created nicely for skateboarding and the sound and the picture are both good. Therefore allowing crisp nice looking skateboarding to be captured.
This means that the majority of videos and edits that have been released have been created on one of these. It has gained almost a cult following.
Now sneaking into this world of filming is the HD rig as seen above. It is a bit bulkier doesnt take tapes and records directly onto a memory card making it potentially easier for the filmer. It also films in crisp 1080p widescreen footage meaning no grainy not quite right footage making it almost better than what you see with your real eyes. There does appear to be a lame slow mo dolly trend which will hopedfully die out as people get used to how High definition footage looks.
What does this mean? well does any of it actually mean anything? I think the VX/HD debate is quite funny within the skateboarding world and perhaps should only be debated between the real geeks. At the end of the day both are used to film skateboarding which means that we can watch it, and what is there not to like about watching skateboarding? Nothing?
But remember apparantly retro is cool.

The blog has reached 100 posts it started up as a joke, but is alot more popular than imagened.
For the 100th post i asked Sant to find something worth people looking at so here we have it, i have been fighting with this gap for a while and been there on quite a few occasions. On this ocassion this Grandad turned up and started saying stuff to me before i ran up to the gap. Alot of bollocks came out of his mouth, apparantly his taxes pay for me in hospital and i was going to kill his grand kids on my skateboard amongst many other things. Anyway.......
